Trust, Verify, Protect: AI Risks in Estate Planning Every Financial Advisor Should Know

Regular price $99.00

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the estate planning industry, including how clients communicate, make important decisions, and even draft their own legal documents. For financial advisors, the rapid advancement of this technology creates new categories of risk: deepfake-enabled fraud, account takeovers, identities compromised, and clients generating AI do-it-yourself (DIY) estate planning documents that can fail when tested in the real world.

This session provides a practical framework to identify red flags, educate clients on how to protect their legacy and intent, and coordinate effectively with estate planning attorneys to avoid the negative implications AI can have on a client's plan.

You will leave feeling confident in your ability to

  • spot deepfake and AI-impersonation red flags, and implement simple verification steps before acting on urgent requests;
  • identify common security gaps that expose clients to account takeovers, fraud, or compromised instructions;
  • recognize when AI-powered DIY estate planning is likely to fail, and know when to refer clients to qualified counsel; and
  • use a brief advisor conversation framework to discuss AI risks clearly, document concerns, and coordinate next steps.

This course is eligible for 1.0 credit.
