The Hybrid DAPT: A SLAT with a Back Door

This presentation focuses on asset protection planning, as well as estate tax planning. The presenter will discuss a special type of asset protection trust that provides a much more certain asset protection result.

This trust is generally used for clients who do not reside in one of the states that have enacted domestic asset protection trusts. It is used as the primary asset protection tool in the planner’s toolbox, and also in place of any gifting trust where the settlor may need access to the trust assets at some point.
