Serving Clients and Beneficiaries with Mental Illness: A Mental Health Professional’s Perspective
Mental health issues are common among the general public and present in various ways. Dealing with clients and beneficiaries who have mental health challenges presents unique concerns for attorneys, trustees, and financial professionals. Typical approaches to estate planning and trust administration may not adequately address these concerns. Join us to hear from mental health professional Amanda Koplin, LPC, who will address different types of mental illness and guide attendees in recognizing the signs, symptoms, and challenges that may be posed by various mental health challenges. Amanda will offer innovative solutions, including safeguards like trustee-beneficiary agreements that can be put in place during times of clarity to assist in times of crisis. She will offer hypothetical case studies as illustrative examples and help guide attendees on when, how, and whom to contact for help, should that become necessary.
