As clients’ balance sheets become increasingly global and complex, so does the estate planner’s job in navigating obstacles to transfer assets and come up with inventive ways to plan for assets traditionally thought of as undesirable or difficult. In this program, the panelists will untangle planning concepts and techniques used for certain assets by
- discussing estate planning structures and key tax and nontax considerations for clients who own assets outside of the United States; and
- exploring innovative transactions, such as private derivative contracts, to plan for assets that may be nontransferable or undesirable when considering traditional, tried-and-true strategies.
